      Very helpful

I bought a Bison stairlift not for myself but for my aged father. He had become so frail that climbing the stairs became out of the question and yet he was too proud for me to move his bed downstairs, not to mention the practicalities of using an upstairs bathroom. I got him to try out several different makes, Bison was by far not the prettiest, but my father had very long legs and the Bson was the only one he felt safe in. It can be operated by the user from a simple flick switch on the arm rest, with the advatage that the moment the user removes pressure from the switch the chair stops. Or it can be controlled remotely from switches located at the top and bottom of the stairs. Once the chair has reached the top or the bottom of the stairs it stops automatically. When not in use the seat, arm rests and foot rests fold up, although I would not recommend you do this as an eldery person can have a bit of a problem unfolding them on their own. In the past 6 years it has broken down twice but the Bison engineers were there within hours. It gave my father the freedom of his own house again, far cheaper than moving home.
