Advantages: Easy to swallow and a great price

Disadvantages: Not sure about getting benefits from them

I try really hard to have a good balanced diet, to work out regularly but have to admit that while I'm good at the exercising part my diet falls flat on it's face rather often! I am so partial to quick and unhealthy food and because I have a busy lifestyle and I'm not a very good cook, more often than not I'll bang a processed ready meal in the oven or like today eat just eat toast (which is my favourite!). Today as an example not one piece of fruit or any vegetables has passed my lips at all (unless you count the oranges in the marmalade lol). I haven't fancied eating much!

The reason I haven't felt like eating much is cos I had an eating disorder. Whilst I'm not actively behaving in my bulimic ways (binging and purging) I'm just eating little. I am eating but not as well as I should be and I have a cold and feel a little on the rough side!

When my eating disorder started a few years back I remember the clinic telling us that if we could do nothing else we should try to take an all round vitamin tablet without Iron (people with eating disorders can't digest that as a supplement apparently) and so these were the first one's I ever purchased in Boots.

The Packaging:

There are many Boots Multivitamins. By that I mean a few that fall under that title. Mine are not billed at the 100% one's I've seen a few other people write about under this description but on my silver round plastic tub with that has a twist on/off lid to the top of it and that is slanted and around it's main 'body' has a light pink label I am told they are 'General Health' Multivitamins which contain more that 10 essential vitamins for general wellbeing and that my tub contains 30 tables and to take 1 a day. On the back of that label I'm told a little bit about the product and given directions for use, a picture of the tablet size is drawn on there, the best before date is displayed and contact details for Boots are listed and there is a bar-code on there on there. That label peels back and on that I'm given a full list of which vitamins are in there and the value given in the tablet, warnings are listed, ingredients are given, allergy advice is stated and further information is given. Informative enough this tub is and it's tidy to look at.

The Tablets:

Round, quite thick but not huge and they're a light brown in colour. The outer 'shell' is hard and looks shiny and coated and for that reason they are easy enough to swallow. When put in the mouth the tablet has a slight sweet sugary taste, I swill mine down with copious amounts of water and that's it job done! They leave no nasty aftertaste and are easy to take and they don't repeat on you or make you gag when taking them because they smell. They don't at all.

Do They Work?

Well who can say 100%. I mean I'm not suddenly well all the time just because I take a multi vitamin and from the moment I started taking them I didn't suddenly start looking more radiant, healthier or anything else. Who's to say my hair wouldn't fall out if I stopped taking these. who's to say it would lol. I don't think I'm any healthier really than someone who doesn't take them it's just that I'd simply rather.

What I would say though is that you don't get a healthy diet this is a safe way of topping up your vitamins levels. It's amazing how much we need of these vitamins we need in our bodies to get our body to it's optimum so even if you do eat a well balanced diet always these won't hurt you (though do read the warnings on the tub).

They are a good value for money product, don't taste really and are easy to take..so why not take them as something is better than nothing surely lol?
