I needed to found an Opticians to see my gran ma at home as she is Housebound & Diabetic, I asked all opticians in Town and in the area (Durham- Chester Le street))but the waiting list was for 5-6 weeks, she wear a very big prescription lenses (they Broked)so she cound't see at all. I search the yellow pages (internet)and I found a small independent opticians call Opticians At Home in Consett (15 miles out) And they could see my Gran ma in 48 hours, Not only that it was a Saturday afternoon 4 O'clock. they come 2 (the Optometrist and an assistant)they did a full eye examination with the drops and all the tests for about 40-50 minutes, by the end the assistant polite asks us if we are interested in buy a new frames or they could repair the broken ones (as the optician said the was not need to change the current prescription).
We decide to buy a new frame and lenses, the cost was less than half of my Gran ma own glasses, about £60 and the home visit and test was FREE.The Glasses were delivery for FREE two days later and perfect!!!!! Light, Thin & Clear.The Optometrist send a letter to her Gp (as she is Diabetic)and the company call us a week later for a cortesy call to check out if she is Happy.......Well WE ARE.
