I have had two very different experiences of Boots Opticians. I went originally as I had worn glasses for 14 years but was convinved that they weren't right - I was also disatisfied with my previous optician. When I went the first time they were absolutely brilliant - the offered a number of solutions always taking care to explain the benefits or disadvantages of each. They to great care to help me choose new glasses and were honest about how they looked (and they weren't just trying to sell you the most expensive!)

On the second visit, 6 months later, it was a very different story. It was a different optician and different staff all round. The optician seemed rushed and I twice had to ask her to speak up as I couldn't hear her (and I'm only 25!!!) She seemed to say that what I'd been given at the previous visit wasn't right. Anyway, it was not very satisfactory, and I still don't feel I've got the right thing! I don't know whether I shall go back again.

Very mixed!

Summary: I guess it depends from place to place, and from staff to staff. Difficult one!
