I have gone to Boots Opticians for years and although they do charge over the odds for glasses and contacts at least they are decent people who actually try to check out your eyes. A few times before my glasses have broken with me at fault but they would fix them free of charge assuming if its just a screw missing or a semi bent frame. Obviously ... Read the complete review

As a speccy wearer for the last 11 years I've had to go to the opticians a lot. I still remember my first awful experience where they tried to shove me into a section with teletubbies and fireman sam on the arms of the glasses (I was 12 at this time and the new kid at school - it was as though that opticians wanted me to die of ... *This review is for the branch in Grimsby* When I started getting headaches more than normal last year, I thought it was time I went for an eye test. Through my advantage card I had been sent a voucher for a free eye examination, so I decided I may as well make an appointment. I went to the Boots Optician website where I ... I have been a customer of the Great Yarmouth Boots Opticians for several years. My husband has been going there for many years longer as he has always needed specs. I have just received a letter to book an eye test. I rang up the local store rather than the central booking line (who always have got it wrong in the past) and was told the ... I have been with Boots Opticians for now for the best part of 3 years, and not once have I ever thought of moving. I have both glasses and contact lenses from Boots. The best thing about receiving your contacts from Boots is that they will give you free eye tests and free contact after care appointments to make sure your eyes are in good ... In March a bought reading glasses from Boots Opticians and in June I inadvertently dropped them in a car park. They were slightly scratched from the fall but unfortunately the arm fell off, not at the screw but where the sidepiece joins the eyepiece and it really must have been weakly attached. Boots said that because they were scratched I had ... Read the complete review

i bought glasses at boots opticians in ealing 15 months ago. one arm broke. i returned them and was told they had to go back to silhouettes who made the frames the charge would be £60.00. i then read an article in observer money saying all goods are guaranteed for 2 years . when my glasses were ready i refused to pay but was willing to leave them in the shop until customer care contacted me. robert kirk contacted me and gave me a very hard time saying he worked on these matters every day and i was wrong. he eventually said he would speak to the lawyers and 1 week later i received a message to say the manager of the ealing branch had permission to give me my glasses back. no fee, no explanation , no apology. good companies dont behave like that.

Thanks to my primary schools need of giving us eye and ear tests when we first started there I've had to wear glasses since I was 5. So that makes it a total of...almost 17 years. And throughout all that time I've been completely loyal to my Boots Opticians. Obviously it would be very difficult for me to review my Kingswood branch ... Read the complete review

I have been wearing glasses for about 15 years now and was originally a customer with Specsavers but about 4 years ago I changed to Boots because I felt that anytime I went in there, I was being rushed out of Specsavers, as they were just too busy. I am writing about my experience of my local Boots Optician in High Street, ... Read the complete review

I have had two very different experiences of Boots Opticians. I went originally as I had worn glasses for 14 years but was convinved that they weren't right - I was also disatisfied with my previous optician. When I went the first time they were absolutely brilliant - the offered a number of solutions always taking care to explain the benefits or ... Read the complete review

Never before have I met a freindlier bunch of staff in an opticians, I took my dad here when his car was broken as he needed to get his eyes tested and wanted some new glasses for cycling. They looked through the catalogue and showed him all the styles but didn't have the style of glasses he wanted in stock but they ordered them in for ... Read the complete review

YOU THINK YOU GOT PROBLEMS WITH BOOTS OPTICIANS
In November I paid over £200 for a pair of rimless glasses for my son. In July the arm fell off taking the corner of the lens with it. I gather this is a common problem with rimless glasses. My daughter had the same problem at Specsaver but at least they provided an alternative pair free of charge.
So reassured by the 2 year guarantee I send my son back to Boots who ask him for £160 to repair the glasses. I ask them to repair or replace the glasses. They say they must be returned to the manufacturer to assess whether the materials are at fault before deciding whether to honor the guarantee. Surprise Surprise they decide the materials are not at fault but now only want £140 to repair the glasses. I said no and took them to Dolland/Aitcheson.

Despite being a Boots Opticians customer for 12 years, I am extremely unhappy with the level of service over the last 6 months. I currently reside in Harrogate and in Autumn last year I started working on a fixed term year contract in Leeds. As I work full time I need to take my appointments at the end of the day or in my lunch break. I ... Read the complete review

My experience of Boots Opticians in Northwich, Cheshire is appauling. The Managing Director there was extremely unfriendly and did not want to perform an NHS eye test (i am diabetic). He was unprofessional and argumentative because I would not guarantee buying glasses from Boots if they were needed. In fact he was only prepared to test my eyes under duress. I have decided to go elsewhere as I have no faith in him as an optician. Think he was having a bad day!

Took my Boots glasses to my local Optitians in Farnham as I had lost one of the nose pads. When I returned home I could not believe that they had only replaced one of the nose pads. I now have one brand new and one old discoloured one. Is this good customer care? I think not. I have sent this complaint to Customer service together with other concerns about my glasses purchased summer 2007

When I lived in Walsall I always used Dolland and Aitchison Opticians. In fact I had been going there ever since I was 4 years old and it was called Hudson Howard and that's going back a bit I can tell you - I'm 53 tomorrow! Anyway they do not have branch here in Llandudno. I took a look around the town and decided to try Boots ... Read the complete review

I have also experienced difficulties getting contact lenses from Boots. I had bought them from Boots for years, then had a break, went back two weeks ago.
