To enable someone with skin problems to understand Cetraben's usefulness, it's helpful to understand a little about the conditions I suffered, and how Cetraben helped... Cetraben came into my life about seven years ago, when an unfortunate encounter with a new body lotion led to a series of attacks of something called blephiritis (forgive any spelling error!). This is a kind of contact dermatitis on the eyelids. What this meant for me was my upper and lower eyelids swelling, cracking, drying, splitting... it made it difficult to see sometimes, and the irritation meant I kept rubbing my eyes until the lids eventually were raw and difficult to open ... Cetraben emollient is primarily a cream for eczema sufferers, it can be bought over the counter or prescribed by a GP. I use Cetraben regularly because I suffer from atopic eczema, there are different forms of eczema but this is the most common. Atopic eczema is a condition which is said to affect around 10% of the population. Unfortunately for us eczema suffers there is not a cure so it is a matter of learning how to manage the symptoms which can be different from person to person and also vary in severity. The oily barrier of the skin (the lipid) is impaired in those with eczema which results in an increase of moisture loss so this means there is a constant ... Read the complete review

When my children were younger they both suffered with Eczema, happily they have both mostly grown out of it. My Son still suffers with dry skin, which if not properly hydrated can flare up and my Daughter still has small patches of Eczema in her joints. Diprobase cream was and still is the cream my Son uses to control and treat his Eczema. Unfortunately my Daughter was allergic to Diprobase and we had to find a more suitable emollient cream, after a few unsuccessful emollients the one we settled on was Cetraben. As my daughter is 12 she still qualifies for free prescriptions (no doubt that will change) so we have the large 500g tub with a pump for ... Read the complete review

We were originally introduced to Cetraben Cream when we had a referral to the dermatology department at our local hospital for our little lad. He suffers from eczema but when he was being bullied at school and his stress levels increased, he became much worse. All the itching and scratching became a lot worse and he ended up with impetigo. The dermatologist prescribed tubs and tubs of Cetraben Emollient Cream to see if it did him any good, whilst the clinic carried out a huge range of 'allergy tests' to the skin all over the poor little mite's back. We did not buy this cream from a pharmacy as it was given to us on prescription for the little lad and ... Read the complete review

* ~ * CETRABEN CREAM * ~ * I recently suffered from a bad case of eczema on my legs and when the doctor finally diagnosed it was eczema, I was prescribed some steroid cream along with a big pump bottle of Cetraben cream which I was to apply four times a day. I was shocked at the size of the cream, but after reading the information on the back I thought this must be a very good cream as it's specifically for dry skin such as eczema. The Emollient cream is moisturising and it protects the skin and relieves symptoms such as red, inflamed, damaged, dry and chapped skin, when associated with eczema. It states on the front of the pump bottle that the cream contains White ... Read the complete review
