My husband and I had been trying for baby number 2 for a few months and on Monday I decided that, although it was only 11 days past ovulation, I would take a test and see.

I first used a Boots test, which showed a very faint line, enough to make me think perhaps I was pregnant, but it certainly didnt fill me with confidence.

I then decided to use the Clearblue digital (conception indicator) test my friend had sent me. The test comes in a box on its own or with another test and I would guess a single test would cost around £10. Luckily I didn't spend that myself!

The test is quite large and bulky, but I guess it would be, as its more than your average pregnancy test. It comes in a plastic wrapping and when you open it the test is white with a blue cap.

The instructions say you can use the test from 4 days before your period is due, but of course the chances of getting a false negative are higher.

Anyway, so I chose to dip the stick into my urine sample and held it there for about 15-20 seconds. It then took about 2-3 minutes to get a response.

Pregnant 1-2 !!! I was shocked!! Goes to show the test is obviously very sensitive and its true what they say, it's nice to know where you stand, no one interpreting lines etc.

I used to think not to bother with the expensive tests but this has proven how brilliant they can be and I would highly recommend Clearblue, even if just for confirmation.
