Advantages: Easy to use and accurate
Disadvantages: None
When I realised that there was a big possibility that I was pregnant (nearly 2 years ago now) apart from telling my other half one of the first things I did was go to a pharmacy and pick up a few pregnancy tests - just in case the first one wasn't accurate. Never having been in that situation before I was slightly overwhelmed with the choice, did I opt for the most expensive with the fancy packaging or did I go for cheap and cheerful hoping it would actually give the correct result. In the end I opted for a variety as feeling like I should be better safe than sorry!
After having two positive pregnancy tests I decided to buy the Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator simply because I found out I was pregnant on a Friday evening so would have to wait until Monday at the earliest to make an appointment with my doctor and I simply couldn't wait that long so I was prepared to pay the price for one individual test! The Cleablue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator is widely advertised on TV and is easily found in stores such as Boots, Superdrug and even supermarkets.
The Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator is a more innovative type of pregnancy test as unlike other tests you can buy it will give you confirmation of your pregnancy as well as tell you how far along you are in weeks which was ideal for me as this is what I was wanting to know. Clearblue make a range of pregnancy tests together with products to help test your ovulation if you are trying to get pregnant. Clearblue certainly seem like the leading brand when it comes to pregnancy tests! This test is the only one on the market which gives you the indicator results and is highly recommended by doctors.
The Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator to look at comes in a rectangular cardboard box which features an image of the test itself together with Clearblue's logo, product name and obviously information highlighting what this test actually does. On the back of the box there is more blurb about the product but inside there is a more detailed leaflet on how to use the test as well as how to work out the indicator as the date of conception and the date the doctor will give you are two different things. The packaging is certainly not discreet and is pink and blue in colour.
On opening the box the test comes in a white protective packet almost to ensure it hasn't been tampered with it should be opened anywhere. To look at the test itself is white in colour with a blue cap at the one end which is what you take off when taking the test. The display screen is at the side and is around an inch long. Now I did read the instructions as I know it wasn't going to be a hard thing to use but I just wanted to do it correctly. It is advised that this test is so sensitive you can test up to 4 days early as well as giving 99% of accurate results from the date that your period is due. As I had already found out that I was pregnant I didn't have any concerns about whether this test would work or not but obviously if you haven't found out by another test or by a doctor then it is important to test at the appropriate times as by taking this test too early can give you inaccurate results.
So to use this test is just like all the other pregnancy tests you take the blue cap off the one end and whilst going to the toilet put the white tab into the urine stream for around 30 seconds, remove and put the blue cap back on. Then you just have the waiting game for the results. The Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test with Conception Indicator has a Smart Dual Sensor TM which tells you whether you are pregnant or not and if you it will also state how many weeks pregnant you are. Whilst waiting for the result a little hourglass symbol will show until the result is clearly displayed in the display.
It didn't take much longer than a few minutes for my results to come up which I was pleased with and it came up incredibly clear on the screen which I was expecting. It turned out that I was 5 weeks pregnant and gave me the comfort I needed before going to the doctors. The display clearly shows the words "Pregnant" together with the number of weeks e.g. 2-3. I have absolutely no complaints with using it, it is easy to use and works exactly how it says it would do. Definitely a pregnancy test worth the extra to give a little bit of relief! I can't fault this pregnancy test and will gladly give it 5 stars.
