Advantages: Easy to read, quick result, contains 7 sticks

Disadvantages: The price

When I decided to try for a second baby I decided to use ovulation tests to help me conceive quickly. I tried quite a few brands before using the Clearblue digital ovulation test and deciding it was by far the easiest to use. For starters the clearblue test comes with 7 sticks whereas most of the others only come with 5. This gives you 2 extra days to try and find your fertile period. This was particularily important for me with my irregular cycles. Also it's much easier to read than the non-digital versions. If the result is positive it comes up with an unmistakeable smily face. With the others I tried a positive result was if you had 2 lines appear with the test line the same intensity or darker than the control line. Believe me, they are quite hard to read as the control line is always very dark to begin with. Also the clearblue test gives you a result within 3 minutes. Some of the other brands I've used take up to 15 minutes! It is very easy to use too. Just remove the cap off the stick, match up the arrows on the stick to the digital ovulation test and push it in. A picture of the test comes up on the digital display to show you it's ready to use. Place the absorbent part of the stick in your urine stream for 5-7 seconds then replace the cap with the stick pointing downwards and lie it flat. Within 3 minutes you get your result. The only downside is the price. Most shops charge £19.99 but you can get it cheaper by searching on the web. In my experience buying cheaper versions are a false economy as they've never given me clear results, so I'll be sticking with the Clearblue digital.

Summary: Cheaper versions are a false economy as they are hard to read!
