Advantages: Can buy box of 2 at reasonable price, quick & easy to use
Disadvantages: Not always a clear result
When I first suspected I was pregnant I went to my local boots store to purchase a test & was surprised by how many different version you can buy. As I was unsure about which test to go for I decided to get the one I had herd of the most which was clearblue. It says on the box that it's 99% accurate so that swayed me as well.
The test is a white stick with a cap on one end & the window which tells you if you are pregnant or not. You can either buy this item on its own or as a box with 2 tests wrapped separately (you also get instructions inside). Quite a few tests tell you to do them first thing in the morning but this one you can do at any time of the day. The result takes about 1 minute or so, so there is not to much pacing around waiting for the result.
How to use:
There are very clear instructions on the box & inside the box so you cant really go wrong. There are two ways to take the test:
Take the cap off the stick & pee on it (the stick) for about 5 seconds, the end of the test should turn a pink colour.
or
pee into a clean container of some sort & dip the stick in it (for same time)
Once you have done either of these, just put the stick to one side & wait for the result.
Result
If there is a + in the largest window then you are pregnant if there is a - sign, then you are not, although the first test I did was a + but one of the lines was very faint so I did the second test the next day to be sure. I hear quite a few people saying this about this testing kit & some even purchase the more expensive digital test just to make sure, although you can get a test done at you GP for free if you are really unsure.
Cost
When I purchased it the price was £8.99 for one pregnancy test and £11.99 for 2 tests so getting the box of two is better value for money & if you are unsure of the result you have a spare in the box.
I think if I where ever to have to do another test I would go for the digital version, as this actually tells you pregnant or not pregnant, its a more expensive version but I think it would be worth the money to have that peace of mind with the result.
Summary: Not a bad test but digital version probably a lot better

- 28/01/09 As I said in my review, there was a + line but the verticle line was so faint you could hardly make it out & I have herd a lot of people saying the same thing. In that situation you want a def yes or no, not a oh is that a line or not, are my eyes playing tricks on me etc. |

- 28/01/09 why would you need it spelling out to you? whats wrong with + or - / 1 line or 2 lines?
but its your personal opinion. |
