Back in my boarding school days in Shropshire one of the morning rituals that we used to fear the most was the taking of Cod Liver Oil in a liquid form.

We used to stand in line faced with terror at the thought of having that revolting tasting concution shoved down our throats every morning.

When I left school obviously I stopped that this. Several years later due to the persistence of my parents and after the lecturing that I received explaining the benifts of Cod Liver Oil, I started taking them again in the capsule form. It has now been around 14 years and I still go through this ritual on a daily basis.

The brand of my families choice has always been Seven Seas and although there have been many modifications to the product, mainly in the strength, the general formulation has been maintained especially in the version that I am presently taking.

Cod Liver Oil is extremely benificial to your health and it contains high dosages of Vitamins A, D and E which are equivalent to the Recommended Daily Allowance. These vitamins are essential for the maintenance of a fit and healthy body and for building resistance to infections such as coughs and colds, healthy hair and skin and nails aswell as improving vision and creating strong bones and teeth. They are also valuable Antioxidants which are scavengers of any harmful free radicals.

These vitamins are available in other medications such as normal Vitamin/Mineral tablets but what sets Cod Liver Oil apart from the rest is the fish oils present. These are the Omega 3 oils which contain high levels of nutrients called EHA and DHA. These nutrients play an essential role in the body by helping it to maintain supple joints and a healthy heart and circulation. People who suffer from athritis are especially benifited as t
hese nurtients reduce inflammation, pain and tenderness of the joints by upto 50%.

These oils are mainly derived from Cod and Halibut species of fish.

Many may find that these are expensive but in comparison to the benifts provided, if taken on a regular basis, the price is small in comparison. The benifits can be felt usually within 2 to 3 weeks after commencement.
