The first time I used Corsodyl, and tried to describe it to a friend,all I could think to say was that 'It was like gargling with Domestos Bleach' Of course this was somewhat of an exagerration as I thankfully have no idea what gargling with Domestos tastes like, but it was the nearest thing I could imagine. Corsodyl mouthwash can be bought from your Dentist, Chemists or certain large supermarkets. corsodyl mouth wash by my experience has to be the most nasty tasting thing that i have ever had to put in my mouth but it is definatley worth the nasty taste for the relief it brings. corsodyl is an antibacterial mouth wash which is used to treat or prevent gingivitis which is a gum disease, it promotes healing after dental surgery, controls mouth ulsers, is great for soreness from dentures and was prescribed by my dentist to take the inflamation away from my wisdom teeth wholst they are breaking through the skin. I swear by this stuff!! If I was famous I would put my name to it! Works like a dream on ulcers, inflamed gums and general soreness. Granted - its tastes gross, makes you want to hack up but at the end of the day I would rather that than got to the dentists! The mouthwash is better than the gel. I find the gel just slides off the affected area and you swallow it (yuk!) so go for the mouthwash if its available. Comes in Original and Mint flavour (doesnt taste much like mint though!) It is now eleven years since I had my wisdom teeth out, all four in one go - a day surgery procedure at hospital. Prior to my discharge I was given some anti-inflamatories, painkillers, told to gargle with salt water and given a bottle of corsodyl. Corsodyl is an antibacterial designed to restrict plaque forming - and can be used to promote gum healing after dental surgery or treatment. So great for those having just had their wisdom teeth out. During my last pregnancy, I began to suffer from a bit of Gingivitis (gum disease). Apparently it is a common problem during pregnancy due to various changes in the body which I don't fully understand. Fortunately I managed to keep it at bay with a mouth wash called Peroxyl which is manufactured by Colgate. It contains Hydrogen Peroxide (yes that stuff you use to bleach hair!) and supposed to relieve minor gum irritations.
