Advantages: Really works on unhealthy mouths

Disadvantages: None

I began to use Corsodyl mouthwash when I presented with bleeding gums during pregnancy. It cleared it up within a day and the soreness went within two days. I would therefore highly recommend this product. Also, because we had some in, when I developed a mouth ulcer I thought I would try rinsing my mouth with this one evening and it was completely gone by the morning. Magic!!

You can buy it over the counter but mine was prescribed by my dentist, which is a great endorsement of the product.

It contains chlorhexidine digluconate which some people are sensitive to. Also, the flouride in toothpaste can prevent it working so it recommends you wait 5 minutes after brushing your teeth before you rinse with Corsodyl.

It also warns on the packet that it can stain teeth, though I have not found this personally.

It comes in clove or mint flavours. I was given the clove one by the chemist and although it is not the most pleasant of flavours, it is not unpleasant either. I do find that it can make my mouth a little dry in the night if I use it before I go to bed.

Price: About £4 for 300ml

Summary: Great product. Really works.

This stuff was great when I had a bad infection around my wisdom tooth, I always keep some in now!
