Ocean Spray cranberry juice is not only very tasty, but extremely good for you. If you are looking for a super summer thirst quencher and health booster, look no further than this amazing product which can be purchased from any supermarket. Ocean Spray is well known for it’s ordinary cranberry juice, but they manufacture a number of other natural fruit juices too, including cranberry blends, such as Cranberry and Lime, Cranberry naturally sweetened with grape and apple and cranberry and passion fruit.

Some of the specific benefits of cranberry juice I have found are relief from water retention and an aid for thrush. Also, for people like me, who find it difficult to manage a whole five portions of fruit and vegetables each day, it is a real boon. A quick glass a couple of times a day certainly helps you reach the recommended portions a day. A glass of this juice every day can also help to maintain a healthy urinary tract. It is an excellent source of vitamin C, which is essential for keeping the immune system working at optimum level. One glass can provide the body with 100% of the daily recommendation of this vitamin. In addition, cranberries have been found to contain tannins, which are thought to act against E.coli. Although the juice is fairly sweet tasting, it is completely natural and free from artificial colour, preservatives and flavours.

Apart from all this, cranberry juice can also be used as an ingredient in mixed drinks and ‘smoothies’. Some delicious suggestions for summer coolers are;
Pacific Raspberry Cheer
7 ounces Ocean Spray 100% Juice Cranberry & Pacific Raspberry
1/2 ounce pineapple juice
2 ounces lemon-flavoured seltzer water
Lemon wedge, garnish
Pour ingredients into a glass and mix
Peach Patch
6 ounces Ocean Spray 100% Cranberry and Georgia Peach Blend
1/2 cup mango, fresh or frozen, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 cup blueberries,
fresh or frozen
1/4 cup raspberries, fresh or frozen
Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend for a few seconds on high speed or until ingredients are thoroughly combined. Pour into a large glass. Makes 1 serving.
Cranberry Herbal Tea
8 ounces Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail
3 ounces water
1 orange and spice herb tea bag
Lemon slice studded with cloves
Heat cranberry juice cocktail and water to boiling in a small saucepan. Place tea bag and lemon slice in a cup or mug. Pour juice into glass or mug. Let tea bag steep for 3 minutes and discard.
Peaches and Cream Punch
1 64-ounce Ocean Spray 100% Juice
Cranberry and Georgia Peach, chilled
12 ounces ginger ale, chilled
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
Combine cranberry and Georgia Peach juice and ginger ale in a large punch bowl. Gently stir ingredients. Float softened ice cream on top of punch just before serving

It can also however, be used as a mixer for drinks, something that many people might not have thought about. Occasionally I add a splash of vodka to a glass for that little extra kick. It is also useful for when the grand kids come round, as a useful health booster. (Don’t kids seem to eat unhealthily these days?) I therefore, don’t have to offer them fizzy coke or some other ‘pop’ which is no good for them.

eve the last carton I bought came in at around £1.40. So, this product is tasty, versatile and extremely good for you. What more could anyone want?
