I am a generally fit student, but when the excesses of being an international super hunk (only joking) get be down this helps pick me up.

My mother is Malaysian, and has a Jamaican-Dutch cousin. She came over to see us, but had to go home as she was refused a visa - anyway - before she left, she dropped this off for us. It's a very bitter tea, made just like normal tea but without milk. It tastes awful - like a tablespoon on cocktail bitters mixed with a teaspoon of water, well not that bad, but it does have a nasty kick and a bitter aftertaste. Take it with sugar or honey.

As the name suggests, it come from the Cerassie plants that grow in the Carribean. I drank it for about 2 months, until i ran out - I had 48 bags. I went to a local West Indian market stall where I saw 24 bags for £1.55 I have stocked up.

Whenever I get hungover at university, and I need to go out or write an essay in the evening I take this. I feel refreshed, and this and a shower will wake you up more than 3 cups of coffee - and they'll be far better for your body too. It cleans out, and I feel it work. It also seems to help get rid of the winter blues (although I think that might just be the walmth).

I've also heard that it can be good for all sorts of illnesses - including HIV. I'm not sure about that, but that seems a dangerous claim to make. Enjoy it for what it is - an afternoon wake up and detoxifier.
