A warning - this review deals with some messy and icky material, so probably best not to read this if eating or drinking - especially if you happen to be drinking a thick chocolate milkshake! *************************************************************** You guys hear about the elephant that had diarrhea? It’s all over town! *************************************************************** Diarrhoea is not a pleasant subject, or a pleasant experience. I don't get it often, but I do seem to get food poisoning once or twice a year - and the results are never pleasant My worst experience, the horror of which has only just faded to the ... There is always a packet of dioralyte in my medicin box these days. I had never heard of or tried these rehydration salts untill my baby had a gastric bug at 15 days old. It was easter bank holliday weekend so i couldnt go and see my doctor and being my first child after 4 hours of her vomiting all her feed back up and any thing inside her was running out the other end i resorted to going to my A&E department only to be given a packet of dioralyte and to be told i was making a mountain out of a mole hill. When i look back now yes i was over reacting a bit but i was scared, so now i always keep a packet in the house just incase. All ... Read the complete review

The first time I heard of diarolyte sachets was when my toddler was ill, when I was sick as a child I was always just given a glass of lukewarm lucozade to drink. They are used to replace fluids and salts lost during a gastric illness. They are also available in lemon flavour which taste much nicer than the blackcurrant ones, almost like lemonade. They are easy to use, simply mix with 200ml of water and drink. The water needs to be measured to ensure that you are getting the right concentration of medicine. I was advised to use cooled boiled water for mixing when giving to infants. They dont treat either sickness or diarrhoea but replace the fluids and salts ... Read the complete review

I was introduced to Dioralyte many years ago and it's been an essential in my first aid kit ever since. I am fortunate to have the digestive system and general constitution of a concrete elephant, so I have never needed to use it for sickness or diarrhoea. Dioralyte does, however, have another use which I frequently benefit from, particularly over the forthcoming festive season. Dioralyte is produced by Sanofi Aventis, a company based in France with a world wide presence. They produce a wide range of prescription and over-the counter medications, including cancer drugs and common cold relief products. Dioralyte comes in a cardboard box ... Read the complete review

~~~ Dioralyte ~~~ Blackcurrant Introduction - What are they? Well quite frankly is you had the dreaded stomach bug that has been going around this Christmas - these are the best thing since sliced bread. They are sachets of Oral Electrolyte Powder that replaces essential body water and salts. In layman's terms they stop dehydration fast. *****How did I discover them? ***** At 2am on Christmas morning I was awoken by a movement !!! No it wasn't the man himself - it was the most horrendous stabbing pains shooting through my stomach and upper intestines. From ... Read the complete review
