Advantages: quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: such a gross taste without mixing into OJ or other fruit juices.
Dioralyte sachets ................a little packet of life saver for my son and I .
As many of you may already know I have a very rare degenerative condition , which I have now passed on to my wonderful 18 year old son ( I'm so sorry).
One nasty part of this condition is the inability to control our body temperature , in other words lifes a pain in the butt.
In the summer when its hot we have to remain inside with the curtains drawn and fans on , in the winter we have to double wrap up or stay in because if we get cold, we get so cold we can go into hypothermia..........but enough of the niceties of POTS.
I have Dioralyte on prescription and it really does taste 'gross' but then dont all things that do you good.
One way I have found to take this little sachet of life is to mix it well into a glass of pure cold OJ' and then you can down it and never taste the stuff.
The blackcurrant is the worst and even if mixed with a blackcurrant cordial you can still taste that under laying salty yuck flavour, so my advice is always go for the citrus flavour .
Dioralyte isn't just for when you have been very sick or had a nasty upset stomach , if you work out at the gym on a regular basis ( as I've done in the past ) you can get times when you feel light headed, sweaty , and tired this is sometimes due to your body salts being all out of alignment , so keeping a sachet of this in your sports bag is a must , add it to a cold drink of any kind and save on those so called 'sports drinks' which cost on average £1-£1.20 a bottle. Why waste money on these when you can take a bottle of your own squash or OJ with a Dioralyte added and get the very same results every time .
I always keep a couple in my bag as you never know when they will be needed . Although they taste gross they really are a life saver and I wouldnt go out without them .
Summary: Wouldn't be without them , brings your body back to health.
