Advantages: WORKS STRAIGHT AWAY. LOVELY FLAVOURS

Disadvantages: QUITE EXPENSIVE- CAN BE DONE AT NO COST!

I have suffered from dehydration in the past due to essential salts not being absorbed in the 'normal way'- through having an inflammatory bowel problem! Dehydration is an awful thing and makes you feel extremely fatigued and weak. I tried Dioralyte Sachets- Blackcurrant being my favourite!- and to be honest, at first they didn't do a thing for me. First thing that came to mind was, what a waste of three quid!! The second thing was, I better sit down as I'm going to fall over. I'm still dehydrated!

At my next hospital visit, my conversation with another patient came round to Dioralyte, and to my dismay I found out what I was doing wrong.
It's paramount...... absolutely paramount in fact that you disslolve the powder in the exact amount of water! 7ml to be exact. Anything more or less makes the solution useless. It felt like a silly schoolboy error. All I had to do was read the instructions carefully. I soon found out that it worked brilliantly with just 7ml.

That awful feeling soon went after just one sachet. I've also learned though, that if you put half a teaspoon of sugar and the same amount of ordinary table salt into 7ml of water, this works just as well as Dioralyte..

So that's the thing.... Some people say only the sachets work, some the household sugar and salt way works better. Obviously the latter will save you about three pounds. It's up to you.! Tastes really nice the blackcurrant as an added bonus and I have wondered if a cheeky little vodka would be nice in it. Don't think I'll try it though. Vodka gets me very dehydrated!!

Summary: Well worth having in the cupboard in case anyone feels poorly!
