I tried Echinacea and didn't have much success,and I had had a hacking cough for about 3months which I couldn't shake off, then a friend told me about goldenseal; now I am a bit of a cynic so I wasn't sure but at my local homeopathic/herbal pharmacy (Sheel Pharmacy in Lewisham - highly recommend them!!) they had goldenseal powder which was only £1.80 for 10g so I thought I'd try it.I made tea everyday about 3 times a day with the powder and it worked after 10 days the cough was gone and now whenever I feel something starting I take some goldenseal and it never develops, it seems to work for sinus infections, cold and flu, and it soothes inflamed mucous membranes and boosts the immune system. It is anti-bacterial & antibiotic and I will swear that it is in part reponsible for my good health of the last 6 months or so.
