Advantages: Great , see above details
Disadvantages: none really, read op.
Echinacea is a native herb of the U.S. it is now though cultivated in Britain. Echinacea, which is a plant, was used by the Indians for wounds. The flowers are purple in colour. It is the roots which are used in the mixture. It can also be known as "Samson" root. Echinacea root contains polysaccharide (I had to look that up!) which is an agent that stimulates an immune response. They stimulate the body's defences. Echinacea is not only used for colds and flu, but many types of bacterial and viral infections, and skin complaints I started using this organic product a few months ago. I am prone to many colds which I often have and it was my sociology lecturer who recommended me to try it as she said it could help boost my immune system and could prevent me getting colds as well as getting rid of them quicker. I thought that this would be a good idea and went off to a health store to get some. The man gave me all the info I needed (hence my knowledge on this product) and so I bought a huge jar in hope that it would benefit me. I bought a 400 capsule jar which set me back £10 but was half price so I did save some money! The man that assisted me did recommend though that I used it on and off, for instance to give it a month or a week break from using it for many reasons such as the body becoming immune to it and you would have to take more and more to obtain the same effect (similar to how drugs work) therefore it is often recommend to give regular breaks. To my delight, this product has worked wonders for me, I take it on occasions and I haven’t had a cold since apart from when I forget to take it that is! Oops. I find this product very helpful it also tends to un-block my nose which I always had trouble with and makes it easier to breathe. Another good remedy for boosting the immune system and un-blocking to nose is odourless garlic pearls which I have also try and have similar effect but maybe not as effe
ctive for me. Echinacea is highly recommended for the treatment of: - Colds Flu’s Viral and Bacterial disorders Skin complaints As well as what Echinacea is recommended for above, it is also good for thinning the blood as well as purifying it and also relieves joint and toothache. This s one of the best herbs to use for an all round job, it has many multi-purposes which is a great reason to get this herb ASAP as I can recommend it to you as I’ve never felt better!

- 31/10/01 Very informative. I've been taking Echinacea for a while but didn't know half of this! I started taking it about a month before my wedding because I was determined not to get a cold and I usually spend the entire year from September to March sniffing into my hankie! Amaxing, everyone around me was coughing & sneezing and I sailed right through my big day without so much as a sniff (well apart from emotional sniffs that is!). Unfortunately I then went on honeymoon and forgot to take the Echinacea and was struck down with a horrible cold the minute I got back to England! Rest assured I'm back on the tablets now.
Thanks for the information. |
