Forever Living Aloe Heat Lotion
Advantages: works well, good for sore muscles
Disadvantages: hard to get hold of, expensive
I came across this forever living brand as my mum somehow always finds these weird and diverse network marketing and decided to become enthralled in this forever living products business. The basis of their products is the fantastic healing properties in aloe vera and recently when I had an awful neck and shoulder pain she recommended rubbing some of this aloe heat lotion that she had at her house into my neck.
It comes in a slim, white plastic tube with a red banner to signify that it is the "heat" lotion as there are other products in the range like the gel which has a green trim and so forth. The tube is rather tall and slim and holds 118ml which is more than enough as really only a little is needed to make a difference.
By squeezing a small blob into my fingertips it is a white cream but it sure does smell strong! Being a heat lotion it has a strong smell to it, quite hot and reminiscient of deep heat and is instantly recognisable as a heat lotion! It contains 100% stabilised aloe vera and is PH balanced so as soon as you begin to rub it into your skin it begins to heat up and you can really feel it working!
My mum is a qualified aromatherapist so whenever I can I like to get a cheeky massage from her. She rubbed this into my neck for me, and with just the right amount of pressure I have to say I could definitely feel it working to relieve the tension in my neck and my muscles felt a lot more relaxed! It heated up to just the right temperature and absorbed into my skin easily and effortlessly and did not sit on my skin feeling sticky or greasy. So being the lovely mum that she is, she sent me packing home with this tube in tow and I let my other half have a go at trying to help me feel better :) It does feel a bit clammy on the fingertips at first but still once he rubbed it in again a few hours later I have to say my neck felt miles better and I could rotate and flex my head about much easier proving this lotion really does have some excellent qualities!
The only niggly thing about this product is the availability. Being sold predominantly through sales reps (a bit like Avon) you have to know someone in the business to get your hands on it, and if you don't you won't actually know too much about the brand. I am keeping this tube that my mum gave me (haha my mum should know better than to let me leave her house with her stuff!) but once it is finished I most likely won't go out of my way to buy it again - mainly because I am quite lazy and can buy a product over the counter just as easily in superdrug.
It costs about £8-£9 I believe to buy a tube so it's not the cheapest on the block but it is effective. I would recommend this lotion as it works well, and is a nice massage lotion but it isn't cheap and and isn't something you can just pick up and buy so I have to knock a star off for this!
