Not one of the most pleasant reviews coming up but this product was a bit of a lifesaver for me recently as I will now explain. I had a baby a few months ago and you think that would be the worst pain anyone could imagine, well no, the pain of constipation for me was unbelievable, And I feel sorry for anyone who suffers from this on a regular basis. I was taking iron tablets after I gave birth and apparently one of the side effects of taking them is constipation and did I most definitely get this side effect! I think what made it worse was that I had never had it before and was a bit scared of what might happen so I panicked quite a bit.†
Anyway, my mum suggested these Fybogel sachets as she takes them as a regular thing and said they might help me too.†Fybogel Hi-Fibre Orange drink is, "an easy and convenient way to increase the fibre in your diet helping your digestive system work more efficiently and gently relieving constipation the natural way. As it works naturally with your body it takes care of constipation without undue straining, discomfort or unnatural urgency, helping to restore and maintain regularity."
What I like about these sachets are that they are very easy to use. You basically just add the crystals to a full glass of water, stir them a little bit until they are dissolved and then drink the liquid. As they are orange flavoured this is not too bad to drink, the taste is ok and it goes down fine, it's not like drinking a horrible tasting medicine or anything like that. The crystals are actually sugar free as well so if you need to take this as a regular thing then you will not be taking too much sugar.†
The recommended dosage was one glass in the morning and one glass in the evening which I dutifully took for a few days. Without going into too much detail, as I'm sure you really don't want to know the details, this worked for me and was a fairly pain free exercise thank goodness!†
I am not a doctor so if you are thinking about starting a course of these I would recommend you getting advice before you start as there are a lot of side effects listed on the box and you shouldn't take these with certain medicines.†
A pack of 10 sachets costs £2.50.
