Garlic. An odd subject to write an op on you might think. Well, yes, it probably does seem like that, but bear with me, as there is a lot you can say about garlic. It has been used for thousands of years to maintain good health by many cultures, but it is only relatively recently that the modern western world is finally waking up to how beneficial this bulb can be. Garlic is a type of herb from the lily family, and is related to the onion – it is covered with a papery skin and may be broken down into segments called bulbs. Although its most common usage is as a flavouring in cooking, it is also recognised that it has many and varied medicinal ... Read the complete review

Garlic has long been used as an anti viral and a protection against winter colds. many people take it just for that but modern science has recently found that this little onion shaped bulb could solve a very serious problem. MRSA (methecillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) is responsible for around two thousand deaths in UK hospitals each year. There are many thousands more all over the world as this amazingly resilient superbug takes hold. New treatments are constantly being developed but the bug always seems to be one step ahead of the anti-biotic. Vancomycin and glycopeptides have been used as a main line of resistance against this ... Read the complete review

Garlic, every vampires nightmare, well not just vampires some people will put up their noses at it and to be honest so did I at one time, but not anymore. As a lover of gardening I like to grow herbs and garlic is one of the plants which is easy to grow and has so many good uses. All you need is a clove of garlic, get it sprouting and plant it outside in the gared this will then grow into a full garlic bulb over the course of the summer months and with the price of garlic these days it's easy and cheaper to grow your own. The garlic family is quite large and amongst its family members are, onions, chives, welsh onion, french garlic, purple garlic and ... Read the complete review

Another one of my weird things that I do apart from eating mash potato dried and also powdered milk and cream and vinegar is my love of garlic. I can eat it till the cow comes home, raw. I love to sit there and chew on a clove of garlic. So there we go off to the supermarket and buy a bulb of garlic and I am quite happy to be found chomping away on it. However there is another side to garlic which a lot of people do not know and that is the medicinal and herbal side. In this review, I will try and tell you about some of the benefits, it has. It has an anti viral effect. Reduces total ... Read the complete review

Garlic is a very versatile plant that has been used to treat many ailments is probably before written history began. It is the only antibiotic that can actually kill infecting bacteria whilst also protecting the body from the harmful poisons that are known to cause infection. Historically humans have known the Garlic plant for many years. Where it comes from originally no one actually knows. Garlic was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians and chewed by Greek Olympian athletes, for strength before partaking in sports events. It is also thought to keep vampires at bay as illustrated in many “horror stories”! Today Garlic is recognised as an alternative ... Read the complete review
