this is a subject i seem to know more about than i really want to but it has plauged me for about 6 years now since my daughter started nursery aged 4! My daughter is mixed race and has really thick, curly hair which head lice seem to love and over the years i have tried everything on the market to get rid of them-finally stumbled on a really simple solution. First of all let me say there are loads of treatments available and they may be reall y effective for some children-i tried every lotion, cream and solution but not only was they not effective long term,i didnt like the idea of putting loads of chemicals on her hair every week which was what i was doing! i even had my doctor pescribe a lotion that smelt like well i cant even describe it but rest assured it was awful, also it was "highly flammable" which gave me some concerns! Anyway was in Boots one day searching for something i hadnt tried yet and i saw a metal comb called"nit free" it looked like a normal nit comb but when i read the packaging it said it had spiral teeth which remived not only the nits but the eggs as well which as every parent knows the eggs are the things the lotion doesnt get rid of so they hatch again-vicious circle. So i decided to try the comb it cost £9.99 quite expensive for a comb but believe me its worth it! My daughter washes her hair at night with tea tree conditioner and when its still wet i comb her hair with the comb it takes about 10 minutes and we have been nit free for 6 months-MIRACLE! the comb gets out any nits and because it gets out the eggs it means theres nono to hatch therefore you are nit free! You need to comb out at least every 2 days otherwise any nits that get on to the head will lay eggs and hatch and you are back to square one but if you follow the routine-well no chemicaals and no nits!

Summary: fantastic find
