This is a tough one for any mum. Just thinking about headlice makes me feel itchy. I have read a number of the comments in the reviews here and I concur, most of the advice will work some of the time for some of the children, but there are one or two tips that have not been mentioned here, so, I'll go for it.

As I may have mentioned, I have children and grandchildren, so I go back a generation to when my children were at school. I alway made sure that their hair was done in French plaits, and the ends were secured with a bright pretty ribbon. Slides and combs decorated the top part of their hair and kept it flat against their heads.

Why was this so important? Because no matter what you may have heard, head lice can't fly. They actually crawl from head to head. So they find it easier to spread where two peple have direct head to head contact, as children often do. If their hair is flying around, there is more opportunity for this to happen.

As children get older they can be made aware of the problem, so if they can take evasive action.
