HEAD LICE!!!! WILL THERE EVER BE A CURE? I don't think so. There are so many creams and shampoos now that the lice are used to them and it doesn't kill them. All the creams and shampoos are not good for the children anyway and in my daughters schol there is always lice around. I have invested in a Robi-Comb, which ia a small comb similar in design to the traditional comb. It has metal teeth and runs on a single AA Battery. It has a high pitched sound which stops once the comb has come into contact with a lice. It also kills the lice at the same time which is good for me as they terrify me. If you invest in one of these combs check your childs hair about twice a week, if there is lice then it will kill them straight away. As you will be checking regularly then if any are found it will prevent them from laying eggs so no more will apear. I am sure being the resposible parent you would do this anyway. I personally think they should introduce the Nit Nurse as we all knew her. With someone checking the childrens hair regularly it will prevent the spread of lice from those children who are not checked or treated, and it is unfortunate but his does happen and it is our children who have to suffer.

- 29/01/01 Thank you for the advise. My son and daughter have not yet caught them. I know it is only a matter of time as the schools are full of them. The little five year old that I look after has had them so many times. I will mention it to her mother as she is running out of shampoos to use! |
