Advantages: You can easily get rid of nits nowadays, It is now a mentionable subject, Many different treatments

Disadvantages: Every child I am sure will get them some time or other

I know the first thought on Nits is to wrinkle the nose and squirm.

But if you have children it would be very very unusual if your family were to escape having them.

Children put their heads together when chatting and hey presto those little erbs have gone from one head to another, one family to another.

Usually schools will inform parents if there is an outbreak of nits in the school. If you have them in your family tell the school as then everyone can deal with the problem at once and you wont get one person getting rid of them, going back and then being re infected because someone hasnt got rid of them.

You know you have them because you feel like scratching your head. You could have a red mark behind the ears or at the nape of the neck.

Dont panic.

The first time any of my children had nits I thought God why us, I thought I would die of the embarassement, We have Nits Help, shame. I know now it was a stupid first reaction but thank goodness times change.

No one feels that nowadays and even the Nit lady has disappeared!

Dont make your child feel ashamed as there is nought to be ashamed of and it is good that nits are being talked about more now.

Next go to the chemist or the supermarket. Ask them which is the best thing to use. They will have either a cream shampoo or a liquid one. Nits get immune to it if you get nits a couple times. You will also get a nit comb which is very very good for getting rid of them. Do it with wet hair though. If the chemist is shut another remedy is to use conditioner on your hair with the comb and they cannot grip the hair through the conditioner.

You put it on like a shampoo but leave it on for the time stated. Do the whole family or it will just do the circle round your family and you will never get rid of them.

When my daughter had them I would clear them and then shed get the darn things again because he best friend had the
m and had not got rid of them. So tell their best friends mum or you will get them back every time.

Because of that my daughter hated the shampooing so we went to boots and bought a machine to kill them! It was £25 but cheaper than buying the cream time and time again. It is the size and shape of a razor. Battery operated and you just comb your hair. You will hear a buzz and that is to tell it has found one and electrocuted it.

If everyone does their hair at the same time the problem goes.
