Advantages: Good price, natural remedy, no taste to the tablets, does give results
Disadvantages: Results are quite slow, no overnight improvement
I was lucky enough as a teenager to never really suffer with too many bouts of acne, some of my friends really did suffer and I did feel lucky that with my simple cleansing routine back then or just washing my face with soap and water I could keep the spots away but a few years ago, whether it be due to a hormonal change I started to get the occasional breakout of spots, it is not so much that they were huge and embarrassing but they were small and red and more than anything, they would hurt so I decided that I would see what was available on the market as all of my facial washes and cleansers were not really doing the trick and I was recommended the HRI Clear Complexion tablets.
My friend had been using these tablets after her pregnancy as her skin was really suffering so I decided to give them ago myself. They are available on the internet from places like Amazon but I found them for the same price in my local Holland and Barrett store. I paid £3.65 for a bottle of the tablets and this will give you 50 tablets per bottle.
Another reason that I wanted to buy the tablets from my local Holland and Barret store was that I also just wanted to ask one of the assistants a little bit more about them. I am not a big fan of taking tablets and often like the alternate medicines but I was prepared to give these a go to see if they would clear up my skin problems and after getting some good advice a took the bottle away with me.
The bottle comes packaged in a recyclable cardboard box and it is very easy to pick out as it is a bright orange and yellow colour. It has the HRI logo on the front as well as the name of the product. These tablets are advertised as a traditional herbal remedy so I did not feel quite so bad in taking them as at least they had the herbal element. The tablets contain burdock, root, blueflag and sarsaparilla. I have not heard of all of these ingredients but I am familiar with the burdock and root.
It is important, as with any tablet that you read the instructions carefully, the tablets are to be taken once a day and the best way of remembering this I found was to take them with my breakfast, I was then not taking them on an empty stomach as well. I think if you forget to take the tablet for a day it is not a major problem but I did try to get into a routine as I felt it was important to establish a routine.
The tablets come in a brown glass bottle with a safety lid and they are a pale cream colour with almost a hint of peach to them. I take my tablet with a glass of water and there is no real taste at all and they are coated so you do not get that horrible powdery taste as you swallow. I took the tablets for about six months and can honestly say that I had no side effects from them.
As for the results of the tablets, I did notice a difference, the redness and sore side of the spots did clear up, although this did not happen overnight and I think it was about a month before I really noticed an improvement in the condition of my skin. Where my spots did clear up though the skin was left a little dry and I did have to moisturise on a more frequent basis. I do feel that the tablets helped the condition of my skin and that the fact that the sore side improved was a big bonus, I guess you would say that the spots shrunk and so I was also left feeling less self conscious of them. I am lucky enough to say that I don't have these kind of breakouts any more so no longer need the tablets but if I did have any skin or acne problems in the future I would have no hesitation in turning to these tablets again.
I give them 4 out of 5
Thank you for reading.
Summary: Recomended if you have skin or acne issues
