Advantages: All natural, works well

Disadvantages: None that I can think of

Not very often, but every once in a while, I have a great deal of trouble getting to sleep. This could be due to worrying about something coming up the next day, such as an exam or a difficult assignment at work, or it could be simply worrying that I have gone to bed too late and won't be able to get enough sleep. This one is particularly annoying as it creates it own vicious cycle! I would imagine that most people go through nights like this and perhaps Kalms can help. It has certainly helped me.

Kalms comes in a pretty purple glass bottle with a nightime scene on it and it says it "promotes refreshing natural sleep." It says to take it one hour before bedtime but since I never know if I'm going to have trouble sleeping until I've tried, I just take this after bedtime and after struggling to sleep. You take 3-4 pills with a glass of water. After this, I am usually asleep within 15 minutes. I wake up in the morning feeling refreshed.

Kalms are made from a blend of herbs including Valerian, Passiflora, Wild Lettuce, Vervain and Hops. It is all natural which is reassuring as I don't want to take anything scary and this stuff reassures me that it's safe and not too powerful.

I don't think Kalms will work for absolutely anyone, just people like me who sometimes need a little bit of extra help falling asleep. I usually am lucky enough to sleep well. Anyone with a real sleeping disorder will probably need to visit a doctor I would imagine, as these pills are just a gentle push towards sleep rather than a magic elixir.

Kalms comes in two varieties - Kalms sleep to help you sleep and another type that keeps you kalm during the day without putting you to sleep, so make sure you choose the right one. It costs £4.88 from Boots or £3.05 from Superdrug, so it pays to shop around for it.

Summary: Kalms is a great sleep aide if you just need a little nudge towards sleep
