Advantages: Price. Easy to use. Doesn't need frequent application. Moisturising.
Disadvantages: Petroleum fragrance. Greasy.
Over the years, I have used many creams on my hands as my hands tend to get very dry (mostly because of my job!). I've never been loyal to any one brand of cream because I just tend to buy whatever is convenient at the time. One of the creams I have used is the Lloyds Pharmacy Aqueous Cream BP as this was recommended by a colleague at work. The cream comes in different sized tubes, but the 100g Lloyds Pharmacy Aqueous Cream BP (which I think is the smallest tube) cost me just £1.39 direct from my local Lloyds Pharmacy. I think this is obviously a very good price because it is one of the cheapest creams that I've come across - and yet it works as well as some of the much more expensive creams that I have used.
The tube comes in a plastic tube, not unlike a toothpaste tube. It is of the type that you need to squeeze out - and it comes out easily and without any problems - although towards the end of the tube, there is quite a lot of cream with is left stuck around the inside of the tube and this doesn't come out easily unless you cut open the tube and scoop it out in that way.
The Aqueous Cream is white and looks like a million other moisturising creams on the market. It looks quite creamy and rich, but it is not as thick as some of the other creams I've used in as much as it's a little bit runnier - which makes it easier to spread over my hands. The emollient cream has a slightly petroleum smell to it which isn't particularly pleasant, but once the cream has been massaged in, then the fragrance actually disappears and becomes pretty neutral.
The cream is very greasy when you first put in on - and it takes quite a lot of massaging to get the cream to be fully absorbed. It probably takes about 10 minutes for the cream to be fully absorbed and to loose the greasy feel. Once it has been absorbed, the cream is very moisturising and it does leave my skin feeling soft and in much better condition. I would only need to reapply this once per day and that would be enough to last me through the day and so this means I don't need to carry it around with me.
Overall, I really recommend this cream and think it's a good price and good quality.
Summary: Good value and quality.
