Advantages: Smells lovely, gives me a lift, not too expensive
Disadvantages: No Lush shop in Llandudno! LOL!
While I was staying in Edinburgh last year keeping Dave company whilst he was working up there I was able to do something that I can't do in Llandudno and that is to visit a Lush store! In fact I found two of them in Edinburgh and went into both of them, although I only made a purchase in one, I went into the other just for a sniff!
I made my purchases in the shop in Princes Street where the members of staff were very helpful but not too pushy as they are in some Lush stores!
I had a hood look round but being December there was a lot of unusual stuff in Lush, most of which either had spicy 'Christmassy' fragrances or contained glitter or other stuff which drives me mad as it gets stuck round the bath and is a pain to remove!
Now I'm a traditional Lush girl and I like the fragrances that you smell and immediately know that it's Lush, the Comforter Bubble Bar that I received for my birthday recently is a great example.
So with all that in mind I avoided the bubble bars and bath fizzes and went to investigate the little tins by the counter. I chose to treat myself to The Lite Lip Balm and The Whoosh Temple Balm.
I must admit that I was a little disappointed with the Lite Lip Balm and have already written my review on it. So now it's time to tell you what I think of the contents of my other little tin.
The Whoosh Temple Balm cost me £4.16 for 10g of the product in a sliver coloured tin.
The tin is about an inch and a half in diameter and about half an inch deep. The lid screws off, but it is a bit fiddly to do until you get the hang of it! The label on the lid is bright blue and just has the words 'FRESH HOMEMADE COSMETICS WHOOSH TEMPLE BALM' written on it in white.
If you get a magnifying glass (if your eyesight is as bad as mine) and read the ingredients list on the back you will find that the ingredients include lime juice, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, grapefruit oil, geranium oil and rosemary oil to mention but a few.
As with the lip balm the temple balm is a solid block and to use it you just have to run your finger over the top of the balm and then apply it to your pulse points - temples, wrists and neck. Whilst I found that the lip balm was a bit too solid for my liking the firmness of the temple balm is good because it means that you just get enough on your finger to smear on the pulse points. It also means that the little tin is going to last for ages!
The idea behind the Whoosh Temple Balm is that the fragrance of it will help 'keep your mind bright and active'. It will allegedly get you through boring meetings without you dozing off but I haven't actually tried it in this situation!
Apparently it works because the lime, lemon and grapefruit essential oils have a reviving effect, rosemary refreshes and geranium helps to reduce stress and thus keep you calm.
I love the smell of it and I find that it does give me a bit of a boost if I am beginning to doze as I am working on my laptop watching the television!
I'm not sure that it would be enough to really wake me up in one of those really boring after lunch meetings in a warm conference room but since I don't work in an office any longer I am not going to need to find out.
In conclusion I find it really pleasant to use and the fragrance is light and uplifting and I shall certainly buy a replacement when this tin eventually runs out.
Summary: A great little Lush product!

- 29/01/09 Nice review, someone bought me some Lush (I'm male, but I have long hair so I'm allowed to use it), nice enough shampoo/soap stuff, but I keep forgetting to open the tin before I get in the shower, it's just impossible with no nails and wet hands!!! |

- 18/01/09 I've never tried anything like this from Lush, but I think I could do with it to wake me up a bit mid-afternoon lol. I love going into the Princes St branch, like you said, everyone is so helpful in there. |
