I won this online after entering a competition to win some health products. All I had to do was to write a product review! I was surprised at the weight of the soother, he is quite heavy. However, he is good quality and very strong and sturdy, it's very unlikely that he will break and/ or split. It says on the reverse of the pack that you can use him straight out of the fridge. I use the soother this way when I am suffering from a headache (or a migraine). The soother is cool but not freezing so it's not uncomfortable to use and you can hold the soother there for a while before feeling the need to remove it. Like most 4 year olds, my daughter is constantly falling over, bumping in to things and generally being clumsy.
