I tried this out after my sister found it worked a treat for her. I smoked for 21 years and I was up to 30 a day and it was costing me a fortune.

Basically what you get is a white, plastic, inhalator that separates and you put a wee cylinder of nicotine inside it, the sharp edges break the foil seals when you put it back together, the nicotine inside is released when it is sucked on.

One side of the inhalator looks like a pen and you can clip it onto any piece of clothing or whatever so you don't lose it. I used to just stick it in my pocket. The other side is the bit you suck on.

*Update : the inhalator has been updated and now looks different. The side that looked like a pen now looks more like a tampon with a rounded end where the pen bit was and the hook for hanging it on your clothes has now gone.*

They come with either 6 nicotine capsules or 42 capsules. Each time you go for more capsules you get a new inhalator, which is handy 'cos it tends to get chewed in your more "I WANNA FAG" moments.

At first I felt like a total pratt 'cos I seemed to constantly have this pen-looking thing sticking out of my mouth but I soon got over it.

Every time I felt like a fag I just sucked on this thing and I was okay.

I was very surprised how effective it was. I'd tried the patches and never gotten further than 3 weeks without being told to start smoking again. I guess I probably was a bit of a misterable cow on the patches.

This was not nearly so bad with the inhalator and I even got a couple of my friends off the fags while I was using it. I really should have gotten commission for the amount of advertising I did for this product.

The money I saved helped me quite a bit. I suddenly found an extra £30 a week I hadn't had before and I was able to get satellite telly and a phone put in so I was pretty chuffed with myself.

My sister used to go out at t
he weekends and be able to have the odd ciggy while she was out and be okay about it.

I figured I'd give this a try to see how good my will power was. Bad mistake, don't try this at home!!! I was off the cigs for 15 months before I tried to have one just for the hell of it. I had 3 in January, 4 in February, 2 in March, none in April and ended up smoking again in May of this year. It's now the 19th of June and I'm smoking around 20 a day again.

I suppose it's time to go back on the inhalator again.

I just had to do something because I gained 3 stone in weight and I figured that since stopping smoking caused this, starting might solve it again. I was right to a degree because I have lost 8 lbs in the last month but it's mainly cos I can't afford to eat much 'cos the fags are even dearer now than before.

Hope fully I shall learn not to try having the odd one here and there next time.

Good luck if you try the inhalator by the way. I fully expect it to work for you. It seems to be effective in about 80% of the people who try it cos it gives you something to do with your hands too which is the downfall of all the other products meant to stop you smoking.

* Update : I've been back on the inhalator for 2 days and I'm doing okay. I decided I might as well go back on it cos I gained back 4 pounds last week even though I was smoking.

It looks a little different but other than that it still works the same and, of course, the price went up a quid.

Remember to wear something with pockets if you want to use it 'cos if you put it down when you're finished with it, it's pretty easy to lose the wee fella.
