Hi everyone. I have now been smoke free for 8 days! I think this is a huge achievement. Used to smoke 20 cigs a day for about 19 years now and am so fed up now of paying a fortune for them but not allowed to smoke them in public, basically which has made me to decide to give up! I like some other people who have posted a review got in touch with a smoking cessation clinic who advised me on the best procedure for me, whether to attend a class or attend my local chemist. I decided to attend my local chemist who give me the prescription for the patches and check how I am getting on, on a weekly basis. The cost involved in this scheme is one prescription charge every 4 ... Read the complete review

Before I go on, this review is a blend of why I gave up smoking and my experience with the product, NiQuitin CQ Clear Patches. The review is quite long but this is a subject where you may have a lot of questions not only about the product, but about giving up smoking in general, and therefore I have tried to include as much information as I can think of. I hope you will find it informative. Long though it is, if it can help just one person, then the length of this review is surely worth it! WHY I GAVE UP SMOKING: At £5 a packet, they were costing me about £20-£25 a week. That’s £80-£90 a month. Which, over a period of 5-6 months equates to ... Read the complete review

I quit smoking on 30 January 2004. As I was smoking 40 a day (and probably more if I was doing some serious drinking), I knew I couldn't quit alone. I needed help. More to the point, I needed **nicotine**. Nicotine is the substance in tobacco that makes us addicted. There are loads of other chemicals in cigarette smoke which cause nasty diseases and conditions. Some of these nasty chemicals are carbon monoxide (the odourless, colourless gas in car exhaust that can kill you), acetone (think nail polish remover), ammonia, arsenic (anyone seen Arsenic and Old Lace), Formaldehyde (what they use to preserve dead frogs for dissection), amongst others. I have been smoking for over half of my life. I was influenced by peers at school, started to smoke with my friends at lunch time and before I knew it I was buying them myself, addicted to nicotine, and spending more money that what I wanted to. It all starts that way, when you are young and smoking is something that you will always crave for at some point even if you have managed to give up. Over the years, many people have kept saying to me that I should give up smoking and I have tried many methods including cold turkey, nicotine chewing gum, nicotine patches, all of which do help to a certain extent, however its the willpower and the want to quit that has ... Hi friends. I’m not too good on titles but I do hope this one grabs your attention because I have some good news for all the “would-be non-smokers” out there. I AM NOT GOING TO PREACH, SO READ ON. Sorry about that but I am a non-smoker now and for years I hated the people who nagged me to give up. I am not going to nag and I respect the wishes of all smokers to be allowed to puff their ciggies in peace, because I think the ban on smoking is going too far , despite the fact that I don’t smoke anymore and haven’t had one since 2nd November 2006. I was the dedicated smoker. The person who said that I would give up smoking when Hell froze over because ... Read the complete review
