I think this one is for all the people who thought giving up smoking is absolutely impossible. I was a smoker of twenty years probably 30 a day at first then moved on to rolling tobacco, one half ounce to an ounce a day. Scary actually typing it out!! Well, it came to a point where i couldnt even walk up two flights of stairs in my flats without wheezing and coughing, and wishing i had a stenna lift, i'm only 35!! I tried to blame everything else other than smoking, my diet, my lack of excercise, the stairs were too steep, earths gravitational pull, the lot!. All the time I knew exactly what it was. SMOKING TOO MUCH!!!
I had tried cold turkey but thats just too hard i dont care what anyone says. So what was there, hypnosis (freaky), doctors (scary), Nico-gum (chewy), Patches (sticky).
Out of all of the above patches seemed like the one for me so
I set the day, got some stage one NIQIUTIN CQ.
Woke up on set day put on patch tried very hard not to have the early morning roll up. Expecting the worse i announced to friends and family that i will be a complete nutter for at least two weeks and treat me with tender hooks.
After an hour or two i was feeling no cravings, this cant be right i thought, whats going on? The obvious mental habit was still there but the physical addiction had gone.
I am now on week six of N.R.T (nicotine replacement therapy) and not a puff (HAND ON HEART).
I have a new source of energy, i dont wheeze on the stairs in fact i run up them now, I sleep more soundly (used to wake up coughing), I dont smell of tobacco, my teeth are white again, my concentration level has gone up, I'm saving loadsa money, and my sex life is.... SMOKING!!!!!!
So to all you non believers like me, do yourselves a favour and try N.R.T it works, after all your only addicted to the nicotine in cigarettes, so replace it. and follow the programme.
