We all hope our kids won't get nits but, as all parents know, there comes a time when mixing with others in crowded classrooms makes it almost inevitable! A lot of the stigma around head lice seems to have gone, I'm pleased to say, but it's still not particularly pleasant to find one crawling around on your child's hair, and getting rid ... Most parents will be familiar with head lice - horrible little grey/brown bugs that live in hair . Adults can get them too, but children tend to get them more, because of the manner in which they spread . Lice don't jump or fly, but they can crawl from one head to another, and children, with their love of putting their heads together to share ... Read the complete review

There are several things you dread when you become a parent. Nappy rash, threadworm, and head lice are probably the three I feared the most, and whilst my daughter managed to escape threadworm and only got nappy rash when she was teething, sadly she has fallen victim to head lice. I must have been a very fortunate child as I never ... Read the complete review

Both my kids on a number of occasions have brought home headlice from school as an extra little treat for me to contend with. I can't help but scratch my head just thinking about them. My son was easy to deal with. I got a good pair of clippers and chopped off his locks. Brutal but effective. Now my daughter wasn't so keen on this ... Read the complete review

Rubbish.
As a mother with 25 years experience, I have encountered headlice on many, many occasions. I only use the wet-comb method, not chemicals. The nitty gritty deems to be a wonder comb, it is no such thing. Because of the colour you can not see any lice in the comb. if you caught an adult there would be hatchlings, which are absolutely tiny, for the following 2 weeks. You need to be able to see these in the comb to check that you have stopped the cycle. I used this comb on my own hair as part of a check, it ripped my hair to pieces. Complete waste of money, buy a good quality white comb set with very close-set teeth instead.

This comb was recommended to me by many friends who swore it was the best thing on the market for head lice. As i have a child of school age i thought this would be money well spent. I was really not impressed at all. I found that because of the colour of the actual comb you could not actually see when you caught a nit or lice. I prefer the old ... Read the complete review

i have two young children one of which has started school and my biggest dread is nits. The biggest reason for this dread is my little man hates having his hair washed or brushed in anyway,so the thought of sticking a smelly chemical on his hair and then leaving it in for a while and washing it off is a nightmare. low and behold two weeks ago ... Apologies in advance if you find yourself scratching involuntarily while reading this review. Our daughters brought home some unwelcome little "guests" from nursery a few weeks ago. Headlice, nits, call them what you will, it was my first ever encounter with this affliction and I was horrified, repulsed appalled and ... Read the complete review

Nitty gritty Nit Free Comb A couple of weeks ago, i felt compelled to try almost every product on the market when I found some of the dreaded head lice in little Miss's hair. While I was treating it with one of the products, someone suggested this comb, so i decided to give it a go in the weeks interim between one application of the ... Read the complete review

When I waved goodbye to my little girl at the school gate, with a tear in my eye, on her first day at infant school I did not realise just how many guests she would be bringing home with her! The school were kind enough to send a note home to say that nits were in her class and could all parents check their children's hair - yuck was my ... Read the complete review

Gotta say the reviews were spot on, excellent product and for a first time user it was simple and efficient. Both my kids (and myself) have managed to get head lice so after reading the reviews I purchased a couple of combs and was very impressed with how effective it was.
The fact that the comb is curved meant it didn't hurt my youngest who is only 22 months and still has a sensitive scalp, and my eldest who is 4, generally causes an uproar just having her hair brushed but she too had no complaints.
I would highly recommend this comb to others even though I have not used other products I feel this one does the job best.

My daughter first became infested with the dreaded headlice when she was just two and started attending nursery. Over the years I have probably used every lotion, potion and comb on the market to keep the bugs at bay with varying degrees of success. The problem is that I manage to get her clear but she gets reinfested at school again. One day I ... Read the complete review

Nitty Gritty Comb About a year and a half ago I spotted the Nitty Gritty comb in my local pharmacy. The design of the comb immediately caught my attention because of its long metal teeth and the spiralled grooves which ran down the length of each tooth on the comb. Having three children in the house who have each had their fair share of ... Read the complete review

I've never been as impressed with a product as much as I've been impressed with this comb. For years my daughter has been plagued with headlice. While killing the lice has been routine, the number of nits in her hair constantly increased until it was truely awful. I thought I was going to have to cut her beutiful long hair off to get rid of them ... Read the complete review
