Advantages: Fast acting, really works.

Disadvantages: Difficult to administer to a wriggly baby who sees the bottle coming!

These are sterile saline solution to help clear a babies blocked nose when they have the snuffles. I got these when they were on special offer and I think I paid about £2.

Recently we have had cause to use them with our 6 month old daughter who has had her first full blown case of the sniffles.

I like the idea of these as I have heard the nasal aspirators (the ones that suck the snot out) can damage the delicate membrane in the nose.

They come in a little bottle with a built in dropper on the end, which is a great little device as you barely need to squueze the bottle to get a drop out. The main problam I have is getting my daughter to keep her head still long enough for me to get the drops in because as soon as she sees the bottle heading for her nose she starts shaking her head from side to side!

Once I do finally get a drop or two in it doesn't seem to bother her and we get a lovely stream coming from her nose that clears it out and we can easily just wipe it away.

Summary: Definatly less invasive and gentler on baby than a nasal aspirator.

Doesn't say there are any on the packet. It is just sterile saline water so can't see there being any.
