I found this an essential product for a newborn with a blocked nose. It is a gentle formula which can be used from birth so OK for even a very young child.

It comes as a small bottle with a fine nozzle from which you can squeeze out 1 or 2 drops at a time. The idea is to squeeze the drops into the babies nose. It can be a bit tricky to get the liquid into the nose though if the baby is moving so often you need to use quite a few drops with several going over babiy's face before you hit the target. Once it does go up the nose though it does work well as it dilutes any blockage so that they can then be wiped away. A sneeze from baby after the drops go in is also very handy for helping to clear things. It can be a bit messy and gross but it does help your child breath and feed much easier so it is worth using.
