So many people these days use probiotic drinks and yoghurts to keep their tummy happy. I am one of those people. But as I don't use them every day I often find that my probiotic drinks go out if date before I had a chance to enjoy them.
So I was looking for an alternative that would not go off as quickly and I came across the OptiBac Probiotics "For travelling abroad". These were the only tablet options when I went looking for them, there may be others by now. I have just got used to buying these that I have not looked others.
You are advised to start taking these 3-5 days before you go travelling and then have one a day, ideally with your breakfast. I take them just one a day at home or when I'm on holiday, although I haven't been anywhere too exotic, just Europe. Nevertheless I have never had issues with my stomach whilst away but friends of mine that weren't taking them at the time had minor stomach issues.
So I would recommend these when going away, better be safe than sorry. And you wouldn't want your holiday dampened by a bad stomach, would you?
They aren't the cheapest product on the market though, thats the only downside. A lack of 20 tablets is available from £10 if you shop around and have a look online. Larger packs of 60 tablets will be more cost effective and will set you back around £25. I generally get the larger pack and it lasts me about 3 months or just under as some days I forget to take one.
Overall I definitely recommend these as an at home alternative to drinks or for your travels.
