Your comments are spot on. I have had exactly the same horrible experience with optical express. I ordered a pair of spectacles from them, they told me they would make the new glasses ready for me the following week and telephone me to let me know I can collect them. A week later they didn’t bother to telephone me to let me now they were ready. I went in to see if they were ready and they were sat in the draw ready for collection. I spent just under 200 pounds on the glasses only to end up with an old pair of spectacles that were very poorly glazed with big gaping holes at each corner of the frame. They were so badly bent that after eight attempts to adjust them they would still not sit on my face correctly in order for me to see out of them! I too felt like I spent 200 pounds on a very expensive pair of glasses that were shoddily assembled. Making me think I wasted my money.

To add further distress to the situation were the rude, unhelpful staff and store manager. They refused to refund my money and did not even comment on the shoddy glazing of the lenses that was sticking out of the frame and did not fit the frame properly at either side. I was told I had to like it or lump it in so many words, the manager was getting very upset at my insistence of a refund and on several occasions was quite aggressive and hostile towards me.

The customer service is non-existent, they basically take your money don’t provide a functional pair of glasses and shove you out of the door!

I have obtained a numerous second opinions from more professional optometrists and they have all said that the glazing is unacceptable and the lense will eventually fal out of the frame if they are not fixed.

I also cannot believe how many bad reviews Optical Exress has on the internet, I wish I had read these reviews before going to Optical Express for my glasses.
