Advantages: Caring experienced surgeon with modern equipment

I attended the Optical Express Wellington Road Clinic and had Wavefront Lasik surgery last week My experience from start to finish was superb. The staff and surgeon were kind caring and efficient and explained every aspect of the treatment and follow up in detail.

I have read comments concerning strong selling etc however my experience was that my well being was their priority. The benefits of each treatment were explained by the optomerist and whilst the waveform lasik treatment was more expensive I took the view that the cost differential between wavefront and standard treatment was not significant over a lifetime. I also took the view that I did not want to wake up someday wishing I had gone for the optimal treatment available and thus I choose wavefront.

When I attended for the procedure, the surgeon Mr Nafaa Bader was very carefull to explain the procedure and to explain risks issues and complications. He ensured that I had the time and opportunity to clarify any issues or concerns. He was also most kind during the procedure and seemed to me to enjoy the warm support of the surgery team.

The post procedure treatment and follow up visits have been equally efficient. I would say to anyone undergoing this treatment to research the matter fully, and make sure the provider you choose is correct for you. Many other options are available including other clincs and private hospitals. It is important to remember that at the end of the day eye lasik is about the quality of the equipment, the effectiveness of the pre procedure analysis and assesment, the professional ability of the staff and last but most importantly the qualifications and experience of the surgeon. This is surgery,there are other options, there are risks but my judgement was that the benefits out weighed the known risks.
My outcome has been beyond my expectations and I would recommend this treatment and surgeon to anyone who is considering Lasik.
