~Piriton Syrup~
************

Piriton syrup is a product that I have purchased a good number of times over the years as something to help ease allergy issues such as hayfever, insect stings and bites and allergic rashes. I have found that as long as the directions for use are followed correctly, the product has been safe to use and I have found that there have been no issues with reactions to the ingredients in the product.

The product bottle that holds the syrup has a child safety lid attached to it, that should mean it would be difficult for a young child to open. In my opinion the lid does help to stop little hands from trying to open the product bottle, although that alone is not really enough protection for young children in my opinion. I have always stored the product bottle in its box, safely away from areas where children might be able to reach it so as to ensure that the syrup is always safely out of harms way.

The taste of the syrup is not overly nice although I don't feel that it is really dreadful. There is a slightly sweet synthetic taste to the syrup that almost hides the bitterness of the active ingredients, although I wouldn't say that this product has a taste that would appeal to anyone very much. Taking a little of the syrup according to the recommended dose is easy enough to do and once taken the syrup seems to start taking effect after around half an hour to bring down redness and allergic rashes to a more comfortable level.

When taking this product to help relieve hayfever symptoms the results are mostly good, although on days when the pollen count is very high the effects of the syrup are not quite as good in my opinion. Results given with the syrup when it is taken to help reduce bites and stings are generally good, with effects being noticed quite quickly (as the urge to itch bites, stings and rashes is often reduced after just one or two doses).

~Who is this suitable for?~
*******************

Piriton is suitable for use by children over the age of one year, as well as older children and adults and I have found that it has worked well with all age groups when used correctly following age and dosage guidlines. The syrup is a good choice for use if a person who cannot swallow tablets has an issue that could be helped by taking some of the product, as the liquid syrup is easier to swallow in my opinion.

~Price / product rating~
******************

The cost of a 150ml bottle of Piriton is around £4 which I feel is reasonable for something that will last a good length of time in a first aid kit due to long expiry dates. One bottle or Piriton holds enough syrup for a good number of treatments, meaning that the cost per treatment is very low. My rating for this product based on my experiences of having used the product is 4 stars as I feel it can be of great help if used with care.

Summary: A helpful product if used with care
