Advantages: easy to use

Disadvantages: waiting for result

There are different pregnancy tests to use but the one that I bought was the Predictor pregnancy test. There was no particular reason apart from the fact this is the only one in the supermarket that they had.

It comes in a white and pink box and the test is a foil wrapper so you know that it has not be tampered with in any way. The box gives you details of how to use the test and there is also instructions inside the box too.

The test is white and plastic and is in 2 parts. One is the stick with a pink end which you wee on and the other part is where you put the stick with the windows to see if you are pregnant or not.

It is very easy to use. All you do is wee on the stick where it is pink and insert it in to the cartridge part. You need to wee on the stick for a second. Once you have done this then you just need to wait for 4 minutes for your results.

There are 3 windows where your results show. The control window is to make sure that you have done the test properly. It's easy to do though so you shouldn't do anything wrong. The extra check window is where the pink dot should disappear. The result window is if you are or aren't pregnant. So if you have a oink dot in the result window and control window, then you are pregnant. If there is just a pink dot in the control window then you aren't pregnany.

The pregnany test is 99% accurate and can be used at any time of day or night. I used it in the evening so that both me and my husband could see the results together.

I bought my pregnancy test from Morrisons and it cost me about £5.99 as there was an offer on it. I think the usual price is about £8.99 though which is quite expensive really, though you can get 2 tests in one box for about £11.99. You can also buy it from any chemist, Boots, Superdrugs, supermarkets or Bodycare. Different places do it for different prices so it is best to hav
e a look around. I was going to buy it this time from Body Care as they sell it for either £3.99 or £4.99 but when I went in to buy one they didn't have any left.

You can use this test any day after you should have had your last period. I waited 14 days after my last period to make sure that I was not going to come on my period.

The predictor detects the presence of the hcg hormone (Human Chorionic Gonadottrophin) which is produced by the body when pregnant.

Waiting for those 4 minutes seems to last forever. We both kept looking at it to see what the result was. I kept thinking that the pink dot was going to disappear but of course it didn't.

I recommend this test as it is reliable and very easy to use.

Update

I thought I would update this opinion from the first time I wrote it as things happened. I had a miscarriage in December of last year but have now found out that I am pregnant again and am now 38 weeks pregnant so far. We are both really excited and can't wait as it will be our first baby. My estimated due date is the 19th December so that will be a lovely Christmas present for the both of us.
