“ Dosage Form: Tablets / Type: Seven Seas Healthcare „
I bought these a few months ago in the hope of giving myself a better nights sleep. We were in the mddle of moving from Wales to England, the kids were moving to new schools and my husband was starting a new job, I found myself struggling to settle properly at night times and thought I'd try these.
The front of the box has the image of a calm, tranquil sea which is a good start!
They are a herbal alternative to the traditional sleeping tablet. There is 60 tablets in each pack and the tablets are a nice small size.
The tablets claim to promote calmness and the ability to relax fully before bed to provide a good, natural nights sleep.
The ingredients of each tablet is quite extensive but they are all herbal and the main ones are Wild lettuce, Passiflora, Lupolus and Piscidia. Each of these ingredients is used for its sleep inducing properties.
Each tablet has a special film coating on it to make it easier to swallow and I had no problems with swallowing them but the smell and the aftertaste isn't very nice! They smell very earthy and they d leave a bit of bitterness in your mouth but it soon goes.
You are supposed to take between 1 and 3 tablets a few hours before going to bed. I started at 1 and found that 2 worked best. Upon going to bed I found I was a lot calmer and felt so much more relaxed within myself. I didn't keep thinking of things that had to be done. I was able to drop off to sleep a lot quicker and as a result had a good, solid nights sleep. I woke the next morning and felt awake instantly, instead of that heavy headed feeling that I had previously been having.
I didn't take these tablets for long, even though they are herbal I didn't like the idea of relying on something too much. I took them for about 2 weeks and then stopped and even after I had stopped taking them my sleep pattern had remained good. I suppose it is just getting you back into your routine.
I would recommend these to anyone who struggles to drift off to sleep for whatever reason.
They currently sell in Boots for £3.95.
I only suffer from insomnia occasionally so I have no wish to go and get prescription sleeping tablets. I have tried herbal sleeping pills before, but have found them to be completely useless. I decided to give the Seven Seas Slumber Tablets a go as the active ingredient is wild lettuce powder. I had not tried this before and had read a magazine article about the benefits of wild lettuce. I have now used these pills on a number of occasions and am impressed with the result. I usually take ages to drop off to sleep, but when I took the tablets I usually fell asleep within half an hour. They don't work every time, but they have worked on enough occasions for me to be convinced that they do actually work. You have to take three of the tablets before going to bed. I must warn you that they are foul. When you open the container the first thing to hit you is the smell (rotting undergrowth is the best description I can come up with). The taste is not much better and I would advise you to take them immediately before brushing your teeth. I would advise anyone suffering from insomnia to try these. Insomnia remedies never seem to work for everyone, but what have you got to lose except a few pounds?
A traditional herbal remedy to promote natural sleep.
