Advantages: Pretty strong, each small mint lasts a long time, good for your teeth
Disadvantages: Not good for sucking, ie when taking off on a flight (mints are very small)
These mints are small but powerful! I always try and have a pack with me, the packets are good too, their pretty small and easy to fit into any pocket, with a fairly easy to use dispenser (sometimes requires a good shake to shake loose any mints that might get slightly stuck in the dispenser). Basically it works by giving it a quick shake then press down the top of the packet and a mint should appear in the bottom corner, so have your hand out to catch it.
I take one of these after eating anything strong or particularly sugary etc., their very minty and leave your mouth with a nice minty smell/taste. Their sugar free, so you don't have to feel guilty about having one, infact quite the opposite as they have whats called Xylitol, which I believe is supposed to help combat plaque (another good reason for taking one after having had a meal). On the front of the packet I have, it says 'anti cavities' and on the back it says 'the first dental sweet for the whole family', so their clearly marketing these as being good for your teeth.
Each pack weighs 8g and I believe the packs used to say that they contain about 40 of these small mints (they aren't so good for sucking on as they are quite small, an awful lot smaller than extra strong mints (which are very sugary in comparison by the way!)), though don't quote me on that, thats going by memory alone, im sure you get at least 20 or so though, each packet lasts me quite a while (at least a couple of weeks).
These mints do contain sweeteners and contain a source of Phenylalanine. Also be careful as excessive consumption (eating alot in quick succession or in one day, basically) could lead to a *ahem* laxative effect, so don't get too carried away or you might regret it! that shouldn't be a problem as one mint is enough to last quite a while, I find and I'd never have more than maybe 3 or 4 a day at the most, which hasn't caused me any problems, thus far lol.
On the back of the packet it says that their made in Spain by Chupa Chups SA and the best before info. can be found on the side of the packets (the first date is the date the packet was manufactured I believe, its the 2nd date thats when you should consume them by, don't get the dates mixed up like I once did or you'll throw out a perfectly decent packet of smints!).
I don't think there's anything else really that I can say about these, except that their pretty good value for money, costing anything between about 70p at the cheapest to the more usual 99p-£1.05 per 8g packet, you can find them on sale from all the usual supermarkets and if you want to find out more, visit the website smint.com
Summary: An item where the saying 'a little goes a long way' would apply, handy though not good for sucking
