Advantages: Arndale store good, great value and cost effective

Disadvantages: customer service very mixed

My hubby and I have both used a number of different specsavers stores with mixed experiences. My hubby has had his eyes tested, wanting the prescription to order some prescrption Oakleys since he does so much sport, only for them to refuse to give him the full prescription including inter-pupil distance as they wanted him to buy his glasses there(Chippenham and Buxton). I've had eye tests with opticians I've felt were patronising (Preston store) and also experienced pushy sales in the same store (trying to get me to have thin lenses when I only use my glasses as back-up). However, I saw a contact lense consultant at the Preston store who took a lot of time to listen to me and answer queries. At Manchester Arndale, I've consistently had friendly consulrants, who spend a lot of time listening to my queries and finding answers for them. There are cheaper glasses available for those that can't afford (and cheapskates like me!) and their delivery lense scheme is hassle free and cost effective.
