Advantages: Cheap, affordable, sometimes great staff.
Disadvantages: Not brilliant quality, soemtimes rude staff..
I have been going to specsavers for a number of years now and it was the buy one get one free that first attracted me. (Shallow I know but I like to change looks!)
The staff at my local Specsavers are really lovely and polite and seem to be very knowledgable about what they do, brilliant, no complaints there then. However, I was unfortunate enough to go with my mum to a different branch, I honestly could not believe the different, well still very knowlegable every member of staff was rude and rushed my mum as though she was in their way and they didn't look terribly busy at all. My mum is quite undecisive about her glasses as she has a small face and many seem to drown her and to be honest why shouldn't she be fussy, a pair of glasses makes a remarkable statement about you, as much as what you wear does. The only different is you are stuck with them until you next appoitment unless you can afford mutiple pairs.
On a similar note, there never seems to be a great deal of choice, I also have small features and most of their range looked ridiculous, also I don't think the quality of the glasses is brilliant either, but they are cheap. I will continue to use then for my eye tests but as with the last few times I'll go elsewhere for my glasses, I would rather pay more to know the glasses will last.
Summary: I suppose the service you get depends on where you live...but it shouldn't be like that should it!
