Advantages: 18years or younger get Free Services
Disadvantages: After 18years old you need to pay for glasses
Introduction:
~~~~~~~~~~
Specsavers has been around for years now and for those that haven't heard of this shop, its an opticians that is well known throughout UK. Anyways, its the second optician I have been with and after the initial change, I have been with them for around 6-7years now.
Service:
~~~~~~~
The service most probably vary around the different branches of specsavers. At my local specsavers, the service there is brilliant.
You are greeted with a friendly smile when you walk into the branch and there are always employees around to help. After being able to be booked in, you go to the waiting room to wait for your turn. Normally this takes only around 10mins so its not a bad wait.
Once your inside, you are greeted with another friendly employee who explains what the procedures are and then goes about changing lenses and helping you find the correct prescription for you.
This process takes around 20mins normally but it only feels like 10mins as they do it so professionally.
Afterwards, I also have a contact lense test as well and it follows roughly the same precedures but this time they will need to examine your eyes to see if you are treating them properly.
Cost:
~~~~~
Specsavers do not have any subscription fees, all you do is pay for the glasses that you want to buy because the check up is free usually.
The glasses range from £10-£100+ depending on if you want basic frames or designer ones. Also the lense specifications vary with the price as well.
Children under 18 who are in full time education get glasses and lenses for FREE. So head on down if you fit that category as you got nothing to lose!
Contact lenses cost around £5-£10 a month (this includes the solutions as well). Its a complete package for only £5-£10 which is a bargain in my opinion. Note that if you go for dailies, it may tend to cost a little more.
Locations:
~~~~~~~~
You will literally find a Specsavers in every major city or town. They are that spread out and big that you can't miss the bright green and white designs that accompanied the firm since it was established. Just head on in and the staff will be more than willing to help.
Summary:
~~~~~~~~
All in All, this place is excellent both price wise and service wise. Its a must if you are a glasses wearer or a fellow contact lense wearer as they will sort out all your needs for you.
- 18/01/09 Thank you for the lovely suggestions as feedback is always appreciated. It lets me know where I go wrong and what needs fixing.
After reading through your suggestions I have gone back and proof-read again (twice) the article. But I only managed to find 1 typo which turned the word 'is' into 'are'.
However I can't locate any other typos. This is probably because of human nature not wanting to find errors in ones own article.
If there are some major typos, it would be greatly appreciated if they are pointed out.
About the Review ratings/comments etc, I put them there for two reasons:
1. Once the review is finished, the reader has a thought in their head of what to do next. These are just suggestions towards the reader of what other things they could do. If they enjoyed the article and the style, chances are they may enjoy other similar styled review (albeit about a different topic). This may even draw the reader into a topic that they never once thought of reading. It just opens up different options for the reader.
2. Its just a trade mark at the end of every article. After reading a lenghty article, one tends to forget who the writer was. Again, its just for looks and structural layout.
These are my views on the issue. Of course I respect your views and am deeply thankful for suggesting and letting me know what you think (as thats what this site is all about). I am just replying to the comment and thats all. I have no other motives/ intentions with this comment other than to express my views and thanks towards yourself.
Than k You Very Much Again. |
- 18/01/09 Hi. This started really well, however, in my opinion (and this really is just my opinion - it's not part of the rules or anything), it is best not to include notes about rating, commenting or reading other reviews. Remember, the idea behind these is so that consumers can decide which product or service to use (in this case, opticians) - so they would not be interested in the reviewer, just the review.
If it were me, I'd proofread, as this is nicely laid out and decently written, but has quite a few typos.
Like I say though, these are just my thoughts :)
