Advantages: The prices are all set out for you to choose them in your price range
Disadvantages: I really cannot fault them
A couple of months ago my Adult daughter was messing around and tried on my glasses and realised that she could see better in them than she could ordinary. This let to a couple of can you see this and that and then came to the conclusion that she needs glasses.
We went to the opticians and the outcome was no she doesnt need them now but could in "a while". We were not too happy with the test even though it was one of the older established opticians.
Today while in town we said to her how about seeing if Specsavers have an appointment free for today. They did.
I took 20 minutes to test her eyes and yes she did need glasses and was told they could not have changed that much from not needing them to how they were today in such a short time.
Next was to choose the glasses that suited her.
What I liked very much was the set out of the glasses. Not only did they separate the mens from the womans but they had them in 6 different price ranges.
I am sorry but I am going to literally copy the next bit from a form I got because I would never heave remembered it and I think that it will help anyone know the differences between the prices because, yes I admit, I didnt know.
The price in brackets is what you pay if you have an NHS optical voucher for any reason - not working, low income etc. This is the total price including lenses.

They let you have a look around first and when you have chosen a pair you take them up to the desk and you will be helped with the fitting.
If you are not sure what style suits you they will happily give you very helpful advice.
They do not try and make you go up a price range or have what does not suit you or you are not happy with.
The next stage is to sit with the assistant and he will adjust the glasses to fit you and measure a lot of distances between each eye, nose etc.
When we first asked how long it would take we were told a couple of days. My daughter was so thrilled with how she could now see everything she did cheekily ask him couldnt she have them today.
As they had the frames she wanted and the lenses in stock he told her okay come back in 2 hours and they will be ready for you.
Payment
When you choose your glasses they do like you to pay 50% there and then and pay the 50% on collection.
We went back in 2 hours, luckily we had to do some shopping, and they were ready.
My daughter had to sit and have them put on her and altered a couple of times but then they were fine.
Assistants
You could not fault them. They greeted you nicely, were polite and helpful right to seeing you out of the door.
And my daughter? She thinks she is living in a different world and is now singing that old song "I can see clearly now" which explains it all.
I would definately recommend Specsavers and definately would not go anywhere else.
Thank you for reading.
also on ciao
Summary: Good service and price so what more could you ask for
