Advantages: Smooth running appointments

Disadvantages: glasses are expensive

After fighting the idea that I need glasses for a few years now, I visited Specsavers for the first time last weekend.

Firstly I visited their website which is very informative and easy to navigate. From this I easily found my local branch and the telephone number. I called on a Wednesday and was given an appointment for the coming Saturday.

When I arrived at the branch someone approached me straight away to direct me upstairs, this is a really nice touch as there is nothing worse than not knowing where you are going. When I had checked in I sat in the waiting room for about 5 minutes before going through to the optician.

After the test I was taken back downstairs and handed over to one of the ladies who talked me through the offers they have on at the moment, she also asked if I would like to browse myself or have her help. I thought this was really nice; there wasn't any pressure and a great selection of glasses.

Always bare in mind that you don't have to have new frames just because you are having new lenses, in the end I am having my mum's old frames, at a cost of £39, this is a much cheaper option.

Summary: If you look for a cheaper option, it is probably there!
